Bowen Technovation is pleased to introduce
Media Manager.....
ExhibitFXMediaManager from Bowen Technovation is simply one of the most amazing presentation tools we have worked with in our history. MediaManager is a digital video/graphics server system which replaces your single- and multi-screen slide and video informational and panoramic display systems. MediaManager can be connected in minutes to your existing projectors, plasmas, etc.
|
Media Manager provides the following advantages:
- Sophisticated video and animation production with NO RENDERING! Make changes in the actual theater or exhibit space in seconds. No need to go back to that post house.
- Works with any mix of one to, well….as many as you want:
- CRT, DLP, LCD projectors
- plasmas
- LCD screens
- CRT monitors
- and even takes advantage of the enhanced laser projection capabilities of the Carl Zeiss Optics ZULIP and ADLIP projection systems
|
|
- 100% digital. No maintenance or disc loading!
- Effortless multi-layer compositing all formats of images (stills and movies) to create complex scenes. Create split screens in seconds with NO RENDERING!
- Use existing and new still and panoramic artwork. MediaManager reads most popular image formats, including BMP, GIF, JPEG/JFIF (non-progressive), MacPaint, Photoshop, PICT, PNG, RGB Planar, SGI, Targa and TIFF, MPEG1, MPEG2…over 200 formats.
- Add fades and dissolves, full motion, hi-res pans and zooms, flashes, flying titles and captions and all sorts of effects… with NO RENDERING!
- Use a drag and drop timeline (ala Media100. Avid, ProTools, Vegas, Premier, etc) for creation of all screen positions, opacity/transparency and image scaling …
- A Preview Window allows you to see low resolution versions of your work in real time… We work with this every day and it still amazes us!
- Soft-edge blending built in for seamless multiscreen panoramas with NO RENDERING!
- Screen resolutions up to 2048 x 1536.
- Multichannel and multitrack digital audio…edit and mix multiple stereo music beds, dialog, sound effects all on location.

Here are some other examples of MediaManager compositions. These were demonstrated at the Zeiss ADLIP-ZULIP conference in Jena, GR on Dec 5-6, 2002 with excellent results.
Many of the video special effects formerly only possible in expensive video suites are now created on your laptop computer or right in your office, on an airplane, or in the theater/exhibit space.
Seamless multi-screen panoramas or mixed format, mixed size screens are all supported. Soft edge blending is built right into the software. So you could have any of the following formats…and more. Use plasmas, video projectors, CRT monitors, LCD…
Single Screen or Multiple Individual Screens

So…. what exactly is MediaManager?
ExhibitFXMediaManager is a software/hardware solution which utilizes:
| |
A Windows or Macintosh control computer (called the Production machine). You use this machine to create MediaManager timeline shows. This machine can be low powered as it is mostly sending control info to the MediaManager Display machines, so you can use a typical laptop and program your shows on airplanes, at home, in a classroom… This machine does not generate any of the actual graphics sent to your display projector, plasma, etc. Software can be almost any Mac software or Win98, ME, 2000, XP. Only one of these is needed per system. |
| |
|
| |
A Windows XP based- server computer (called the Display machine). If you plan to use a lot of motion, this machine is pretty high powered as it is does generate the actual real-time graphics sent to your display projector, plasma, etc. One of these is needed per channel of display. We are currently using a 2.4GHz rack server with two 80Gb removable drives, 512 MB RAM, And an absolute rocket graphics accelerator card. |
| |
|
| |
A low-cost 10/100 Ethernet hub. The MediaManager Production machine communicates to the Display machines via this Ethernet. |

How do you control MediaManager with automation?
In most cases MediaManager runs "self contained" as you can program loops right on the timeline. In cases where MediaManager needs to be under control of a comprehensive show control system such as our AstroFXCommander (link) or ExhibitFXCommander (link) control is via 232 or TCPIP.
And what about MediaManager content?
It is so easy to produce your own shows…Keep in mind you can immediately use all your Photoshop, Targa, tiff and a host of other images, as well as your existing library of MPEG and AVI movies. And wav audio files.
