Bowen Technovation has developed many very interesting concepts regarding production and presentation of sound for all sorts of exhibits. Audio for digital message repeaters, laser disk presentations, tape loops, CD-ROM, and cassette tours are among the projects we have worked on. Our staff is especially experienced in creation of 3-D mutichannel surround sound mixes.

Our digital soundtracks simply stand out as unique in that they are so tightly integrated and interactive with all visual exhibit components. The music works perfectly in sync with the rest of the soundtrack, supporting and enhancing the message in a fresh, exciting manner.

Your visitor has come more and more to expect your productions to share the same levels of production value as they experience at the movies and at home. Our use of the same recording hardware and recording techniques as used on your favorite Grammy award winning albums assures your exhibit soundtrack will have that “major league” sound.

Our soundtracks often feature fresh, creative original music scores incorporating the use of the latest digital recording technologies. Staff composer Jeff Bowen is well known for his interesting mixtures of digital keyboard and live instrument performances. His musical scores simply bring the narrative message to life in new and exciting ways..

We welcome requests for our sample reel, available on videotape, audio cassette, or on DAT. Our reel will demonstrate an amazing variety of musical styles...baroque....international ethnic tracks...hip-hop...Dixieland...ethereal...in your face metal...sweet saxy jazz...they are all available for your inspection. If you are interested in 6-channel surround sound work, for a very small charge we will provide samples from multichannel show mixes on an ADAT tape.

Costs and Licenses

We provide major price discounting to the museum community. Our productions are probably less costly than you would expect to pay for such quality. Call us with specifics about your project and we’ll get you a quote.

After our music, dialog, and sound effect work is completed, we can deliver our product mixed in many different formats. Whatever you need works for us. Some of the more popular mix formats include:

Four to six channel surround-sound mix on ADAT digital 8-track.
Four to six channel surround-sound mix on DA-88 digital 8-track.
Four to six channel surround-sound mix on 1/2” analog 8-track.
Stereo to DAT with time-code.
Stereo to 1/4" tape with center track time-code.

Surround sound is our specialty! We prefer to work with discrete 6-channel mixes, and very much dislike the unpredictability of ProLogic. But we will mix and encode ProLogic upon your request. We are ready to move forward with AC-3, also called 5.1 surround as soon as the industry supports the format in full, which will happen simultaneously with the advent of DVD and HDTV.
