AstroFX Remote Control for your Planetarium Systems

Hot off the press ….Jeff, Dan, and Mike have just finished evaluation, design and programming of our terrific new AstroFXRemote3000 wireless remote control panel for AstroFXCommander, AstroFXCommander ECCS media and star projector interfaces, and direct control of star projectors by various manufacturers, including Goto Chronos. Plus, the unit will also control hundreds of audio, video, and multimedia products even if you do not have a control system.

The user-programmable touchscreen remote is a tidy 6.0 x 3.6 x 1.1" and you can clip it on your belt or carry it anywhere around the room.

The large 3.8" LCD touchscreen is available with full-color (Model 6000) or monochrome (Model 3000) display. Touching the "buttons" on the screen control pages and advances through layers of screens. Here are some screen layouts we have created for two clients.

 



Home Page

This is what we call the "Home" screen.One of the strongest features of Remote3000 and 6000 is configurable via the included USB-cable to the PC. The included software package will help you create your future configuration files.Note the shortcut keys at the bottom of the touchscreen, which allow you to jump to specific types of media control.


Specialized Lighting Screens

This screen is the All Lights screen. It can be used to control all the cove and house lights in your theater and even in your foyers and entries. You can also use this remote to trigger spectacular lighting wipes, chases, etc.

This screen allows you to select and control one single light color of your choosing. Let's suppose we want to choose blue…

Now that you have selected blue, you have easy control over the LED or incandescent moonglow you want to add under your starfield.


Specialized Video Device Control Screens

In this example the planetarium director asked to control their switcher to select an AstroFX hard disk video server, a computer input for PowerPoint, a Pioneer DVD player, and an SVHS player. The selected video source player is then routed to a Barco BD708 projector.

This is the player control for an AstroFX unit. Similar control is included for DVD and videotape players of all types. As you can see, you can immediately call up video segments from your MPEG clip library, play stop…or pause/freeze and get out the laser pointer for a detailed explanation of the video graphic.

The Bowen team can configure the remote and hardware package to control nearly any star projector you might own.

AstroFXRemote 3000 and 6000 can also control the East Coast Control star projector and media automation systems with addition of the AstroFXCommander ECCS interface, which also adds drag and drop timeline-based show programming to ECCS systems.
