At the recent MAPS/SEPA Conference in Richmond, VA Jeff presented a detailed workshop designed to help sort through the maze of current, obsolete, and forthcoming digital audio, video, and control file formats.

This is an area of understanding that is normally very, very ""techy"" and Jeff's workshop and workbook was designed to help even the most inexperienced person begin to sort through determination of which file formats would best fit their uses in the world of creation, editing, production and presentation of digital audio, video, and graphics media.

The copyrighted workshop booklet is provided here for your educational use download.

Section 9 is a nice summary of when to and when not to use which file types and resolutions, and Section 11 is a section of contributions by:

Michael Daut: Evans and Sutherland Digital Theaters
Mike Bruno: Spitz, Inc
Todd Mortensen, Shigeki Ogawa: Minolta MediaGlobe
Mark Trotter: Bowen Technovation
Paul Tetu: Sky-Skan

In which each discuss production specifications for their digital media projection systems.

Thanks to MAPS/SEPA for creating a nice environment in which over 40 persons attended the workshop.

Thanks to the workshop sponsors for the "giveaway" gifts:

QSC Audio
Liesegang Projection Systems
Vutec
Bowen Technovation
Barco Edutainment

***By the way, the winner of the workshop door prize, an AudioTechnica lavalier mic, is Dennis Webster of the Clearfield Planetarium in Clearfield, PA. Congrats!!!
